GMG Color drives accuracy in Germany
German packaging company Hans Kolb Wellpappe has praised the impact of GMG Color’s colour management solutions on its business, saying the software has helped ensure continued accuracy.

Kolb Group, the parent company of Hans Kolb Wellpappe, had been using GMG solutions for a number of years – including GMG ColorServer and GMG ColorProof – and returned to the provider to support its new venture.
This decision was taken after looking at alternate products from other providers, with Hans Kolb Wellpappe manager Bernhard Ruffing saying the company was impressed by fully automated colour space conversion capabilities.
“Now we can convert spot colours more accurately to CMYK – taking into account the maximum available colour space,” Ruffing says, adding: “The less attractive alternative would have been a cumbersome, manual colour profile creation.”
Production manager Sebastian Fromm also praised the performance of GMG Color’s kit, saying it exceeded expectations, especially with print on uncoated, white and natural brown materials.
“The results are impressive,” Fromm says, adding: “Especially with natural brown KOLB HighLiner qualities, we clearly exceed our customers’ expectations.
“It’s not just the outstanding quality and the precise colour reproduction, the unlimited repeatability is an important aspect too.”
